Rutilated Quartz is a variant on Quartz that contains acicular inclusions. These hair or needle like inclusions are mostly gold but sometimes also black, silver or copper inclusions are seen. Rutilated Quartz is one of the few stones valued for its inclusions and relative to inclusion amount in each bead they can vary from almost clear to completely opaque.
